Many of you may be aware of Governor Rauner’s veto of Senate Bill 1, a bill that would replace a nearly 20 year old funding formula that is outdated and problematic. SB1 creates an equitable solution for Illinois school districts and with new added money, does not cut existing funding from any school districts in Illinois.
Vetoing SB1 without an adequate replacement puts many school districts at risk of not opening for the new school year, as money appropriated by the budget cannot be distributed to any school district without a funding bill.
Rauner’s disastrous run in office has often put our state in horrific predicaments, we cannot sit still as he continues in his destructive path.
We ask you to join us as we collaborate with Stand for Children in a citizen lobbying campaign to combat Rauner’s damaging actions, and demand that members of the House vote yes for an override of his veto.
Will you stand with us as we fight for our children’s future?
